The work is obtained with only natural elements found by the artist around the site of a residence program in Piemonte. The silhouette of a bathtub is visible thanks to natural extracts obtained from the walnut tree. The effect of slight chromatic variation distinguishes four different tones, creating a reverberating effect thanks to onions and rust.
The bathtub is a water container, for this it refers to life and source of birth. But also in a more simple and practical function it is often used in the rural context to feed the farm animals. For this reason I consider the bathtub a fascinating device of multiple reading. Plugs was also produced during the residency: they are three wooden plugs made using walnut tree’s brunches found in the forest around the site.
L’opera è ottenuta con soli elementi naturali trovati dall’artista attorno alla località in cui si trovava durante un periodo di residenza in Piemonte. La silhouette di una vasca da bagno è visibile grazie agli estratti naturali ottenuti dall’albero di noce. L’effetto di leggera variazione cromatica distingue quattro diverse tonalità, creando un effetto riverberante grazie alle cipolle e alla ruggine.
La vasca da bagno è un contenitore d’acqua, per questo rimanda alla vita e alla fonte della nascita. Ma ha anche una funzione più semplice e pratica: viene spesso utilizzata in ambito rurale per nutrire gli animali della fattoria. Per questo considero la vasca da bagno un affascinante dispositivo di lettura multipla. Durante la residenza sono stati prodotti anche Plugs: si tratta di tre tappi di legno realizzati utilizzando i rami di un noce trovato nella foresta attorno al sito.
